Eun Jung Bae, Joohyun Chung, Heesook Son

TL;DR
This study finds that better health literacy is linked to higher physical activity in Korean adults with hypertension, suggesting that improving health literacy could help manage the condition.
Contribution
The study is the first to examine the association between health literacy and physical activity adherence in Korean adults with hypertension using nationally representative data.
Findings
Adults with adequate health literacy had significantly higher odds of meeting physical activity guidelines.
Younger age, higher education, better self-rated health, and absence of activity restriction were also positively associated with physical activity adherence.
Improving health literacy could help increase physical activity in adults with hypertension.
