TL;DR
The study shows that using the StopCoach app with smoking cessation counseling improves long-term quit rates, especially for older users and those who attend all counseling sessions.
Contribution
The study identifies factors associated with adherence to the StopCoach app and its impact on long-term smoking abstinence.
Findings
Older users and those attending all counseling sessions were more likely to adhere to the StopCoach app.
Higher app adherence was significantly associated with long-term smoking abstinence but not short-term abstinence.
Integration of mHealth apps like StopCoach may enhance the effectiveness of traditional smoking cessation programs.
