TL;DR
This paper discusses the ongoing challenges in controlling African Swine Fever in the Philippines and highlights key priorities identified by local experts to improve management strategies.
Contribution
The paper introduces a prioritized list of challenges for African Swine Fever control derived from a collaborative workshop with local veterinary experts in the Philippines.
Findings
Intermediaries in the swine supply chain are a major challenge in controlling ASF.
Inconsistent enforcement of guidelines across local government units hinders effective ASF management.
Underreporting of cases is driven by a lack of local incentives.
