## TL;DR

This paper presents the genome sequence of the wood gnat, Sylvicola cinctus, including a detailed assembly of its chromosomes and mitochondrial DNA.

## Contribution

The study provides the first genome assembly for the wood gnat, including chromosomal pseudomolecules and the mitochondrial genome.

## Key findings

- The genome assembly is 179.14 megabases long, with 99.93% scaffolded into 3 chromosomal pseudomolecules.
- The mitochondrial genome is 16.23 kilobases in length and has been fully assembled.

## Abstract

We present a genome assembly from a female
Sylvicola cinctus (Wood gnat; Arthropoda; Insecta; Diptera; Anisopodidae). The genome sequence has a total length of 179.14 megabases. Most of the assembly (99.93%) is scaffolded into 3 chromosomal pseudomolecules. The mitochondrial genome has also been assembled and is 16.23 kilobases in length.
