## TL;DR

This paper presents the genome sequence of the long-legged fly Argyra leucocephala, including a detailed assembly and gene annotation.

## Contribution

The study provides a high-quality genome assembly and gene annotation for Argyra leucocephala, a species in the Dolichopodidae family.

## Key findings

- The genome assembly is 917.38 megabases long, with 99.48% scaffolded into 6 chromosomal pseudomolecules.
- The mitochondrial genome is 18.95 kilobases in length.
- Ensembl identified 22,809 protein-coding genes in the assembly.

## Abstract

We present a genome assembly from a female specimen of
Argyra leucocephala (long-legged fly; Arthropoda; Insecta; Diptera; Dolichopodidae). The genome sequence has a total length of 917.38 megabases. Most of the assembly (99.48%) is scaffolded into 6 chromosomal pseudomolecules. The mitochondrial genome has also been assembled, with a length of 18.95 kilobases. Gene annotation of this assembly on Ensembl identified 22,809 protein-coding genes.
