Management of Gastrointestinal Symptoms in Parkinson’s Disease
Han-Lin Chiang, Chin-Hsien Lin

TL;DR
Digestive problems in Parkinson’s disease are often overlooked but can severely impact patients’ quality of life and require proper management.
Contribution
This review provides an updated overview of GI symptoms in PD and their management strategies for improved patient care.
Findings
GI symptoms in PD can be more debilitating than motor symptoms and affect the entire digestive tract.
Poorly managed GI issues can lead to malnutrition, weight loss, and impaired medication absorption.
Appropriate diagnosis and treatment of GI dysfunction are essential for optimizing PD patient outcomes.
