## Abstract

to analyze the social representations of HIV vulnerability in transgender women.

this qualitative study was based on the Theory of Social Representations, using the structural approach. The research was conducted in a hospital specializing in gender-affirming surgeries, involving 100 self-declared transgender women. The Free Word Association technique was applied using the inducing term “HIV exposure in transgender women” to obtain representational content. Data analysis was performed using the four-quadrant technique, facilitated by the Interface de R pour les Analyses Multidimensionnelles de Textes et de Questionnaires software, version 0.7 alpha 2.

A pesquisa foi realizada em um hospital de referência em cirurgias de redesignação, com 100 mulheres autodeclaradas transexuais. Utilizou-se a técnica de Evocações Livres de Palavras ao termo indutor “exposição ao HIV em mulheres transexuais” para obtenção dos conteúdos da representação. A análise dos dados foi realizada por meio da técnica do quadro de quatro casas, instrumentalizada pelo software Interface de R pour les Analyses Multidimensionnelles de Textes et de Questionnaires, versão 0.7 alpha 2.

Identificou-se, no possível núcleo central, os termos “prevenção, prostituição como profissão, preconceito e comportamento de risco”. Questões sociais e individuais foram destacadas como elementos importantes no processo de vulnerabilidade.

As representações sociais da vulnerabilidade ao HIV em mulheres transexuais estão pautadas em fatores estruturais causadores de desigualdade, exclusão, preconceito e discriminação.
