Establishment of nursing needs scale for elderly patients with urinary incontinence and its reliability and validity test
Xiangping Liu, Jing Pan, Silian Cai

TL;DR
This paper develops a reliable and valid nursing needs scale for elderly patients with urinary incontinence to improve care quality in China.
Contribution
A new nursing needs scale for elderly urinary incontinence patients is developed and validated for use in Chinese healthcare settings.
Findings
The final scale has 35 items across 5 dimensions with strong reliability (Cronbach’s α = 0.901) and validity.
Confirmatory factor analysis showed good model fit (χ2/df = 1.412, RMSEA = 0.037).
The scale is ready for clinical use but requires further validation in larger and more diverse samples.
