“They rape us and they kill us”: Feminicidal violence and institutional neglect in the experiences of girls and adolescents in social care centers in Jalisco, Mexico

Abstract
Este artículo examina el continuum de violencias feminicidas y su vínculo con los sistemas de protección en México, desde la perspectiva de niñas y adolescentes. A partir de un estudio cualitativo realizado entre 2022 y 2024 en dos centros de asistencia social, uno público y otro privado, se analizan las experiencias de 31 niñas y adolescentes que han atravesado este ciclo de violencias. Mediante entrevistas en profundidad, mapas corporales y observación etnográfica, se evidencia que las violencias arraigadas en sus comunidades de origen no cesan con su ingreso a los centros de asistencia social, sino que se transforman en nuevas formas de control y violencia institucional. A través de sus relatos, reconocemos una continuidad de violencias que configuran un entramado de despojo y deshumanización, en el que la institucionalización no representa un refugio, sino una extensión del mismo…
