Abstract
Background The role of medical research has increased in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, which imposed several limitations, including a stay-at-home policy, lockdown, and travel restrictions. These constraints strained the research system, making participant recruitment and data gathering difficult. The study highlights significant disruptions in research activities among faculty at the University of Sharjah during the COVID-19 pandemic, underscoring the need for improved institutional strategies to support research continuity during future health crises.
