TL;DR
This scoping review maps the management capacity of primary healthcare facilities in low- and middle-income countries, highlighting gaps in managerial skills and institutional support that affect service delivery.
Contribution
The study provides a comprehensive synthesis of existing literature on management capacity in LMIC PHC facilities, identifying key components and gaps.
Findings
Managerial competencies were grouped into seven categories, with deficiencies observed in most.
Institutional support systems were found to be inadequate, affecting service delivery.
The review highlights a scarcity of studies and calls for more research and targeted interventions.
