Leanne O’Neil, Vindhya Mampitiya, Akeem Sule

TL;DR
This study examined how often female patients in psychiatric wards discussed cancer screening and found that rates remained low despite an educational intervention.
Contribution
The study evaluates the effectiveness of an educational intervention in improving cancer screening discussions for female inpatients.
Findings
Cervical cancer screening discussions increased from 9% to 19% after the intervention.
Breast cancer screening discussions dropped from 7% to 0% after the intervention.
Resident doctors cited time constraints and relevance as barriers to discussions.
