Andrew Todd, Michael Jones, Adam Edwards, Nicola Crawley, Danielle John

TL;DR
This paper explores the need for a specialized neurodevelopmental assessment pathway for young offenders in Gwent to better address their mental health and developmental needs.
Contribution
The paper proposes and evaluates a new forensic CAMHS neurodevelopmental assessment pathway for youth offenders in Gwent.
Findings
Six out of seven referrals resulted in a neurodevelopmental disorder diagnosis (ADHD or ASD).
Young people not in education or training were overrepresented in the referrals.
YOS support was crucial for engaging cases and obtaining necessary information for assessments.
