Contribution
The study introduces a targeted intervention to improve adherence to MHRA guidelines for valproate prescriptions in a community mental health team.

Initial audit showed poor compliance with documenting infertility risks for male patients.
An email intervention improved documentation and enrollment in pregnancy prevention programs.
Electronic reminders and ongoing education are recommended to sustain compliance.
