Amany Elbagoury, Asif Zia

TL;DR
This audit evaluates adherence to new sodium valproate guidelines, highlighting areas needing improvement in patient safety and documentation.
Contribution
The study introduces a detailed audit of guideline compliance for sodium valproate use, focusing on documentation and patient safety practices.
Findings
Most new cases had LFT and FBC tests before initiation, but only 30% of current cases had LFTs within six months.
All new cases completed risk acknowledgement forms, but documentation gaps remained in test results and alert management.
Adherence to Pregnancy Prevention Programme was strong for females, but alert date discrepancies were common.
