## TL;DR

This paper presents the draft genome of a Proteus strain from a hospital in Bangladesh, showing it has genes for antibiotic resistance.

## Contribution

The study provides a new draft genome sequence of a Proteus strain with antimicrobial resistance genes from a clinical setting in Bangladesh.

## Key findings

- The genome size is approximately 4.2 Mb.
- It contains multiple antimicrobial resistance genes.
- The strain may contribute to hospital-acquired infections and spread resistance.

## Abstract

We report the draft genome sequence of Proteus sp. strain NGCRVN-01, isolated from a tertiary care hospital in Bangladesh. The 4.2 Mb genome revealed multiple antimicrobial resistance genes, indicating its potential role in hospital-acquired infections and its capacity to acquire and disseminate resistance determinants in clinical environments.
