TL;DR
This paper reports the genome sequence of a new bacteriophage called Casino that infects a soil bacterium.
Contribution
The study provides a newly sequenced and annotated genome of the Casino phage infecting Microbacterium foliorum.
Findings
The Casino phage genome is 53,667 bp long with 48 annotated genes.
The genome has a GC content of 64.8%.
Casino belongs to the EM1 subcluster of actinobacteriophages.
Abstract
We present the genome of Casino, a lytic actinobacteriophage assigned to the EM1 subcluster. Casino infects Microbacterium foliorum NRRL B-24224 and was isolated from a soil sample in Storrs, Connecticut. The genome is 53,667 bp in length with 48 annotated genes and a GC content of 64.8%.
