## TL;DR

This paper presents the draft genome sequences of two Streptomyces strains isolated from the rhizosphere soil of corn and sunflower plants.

## Contribution

The novelty lies in the genomic analysis of these Streptomyces strains and their potential to produce metabolites that fight fungal pathogens.

## Key findings

- The genome sequences of Streptomyces sp. OP7 and Streptomyces harbinensis OP7 were successfully drafted.
- In silico analysis suggests these strains produce metabolites with antagonistic effects against fungal pathogens.

## Abstract

The genomic characteristics of Streptomyces sp. OP7 and Streptomyces harbinensis OP7 strains isolated from the rhizosphere soil of Zea mays and Helianthus annuus after harvest are presented. The in silico metabolites produced by these strains are reported to have antagonistic effects against fungal pathogens of food crops.
