Holly Dawson, Suvidhi Khurana, Milla McNally, Amanda Waldman, Rani Samuel

TL;DR
This study evaluates how well a specialist mental health service identifies FASD in children at high risk of prenatal alcohol exposure.
Contribution
The paper introduces a risk categorization system for FASD based on prenatal alcohol exposure and associated risk factors in a vulnerable child population.
Findings
58% of children referred had high or moderate risk of prenatal alcohol exposure.
FASD identification rates were low despite high neurodevelopmental concerns in the cohort.
Standardized diagnostic tools and clinician training are needed to improve FASD diagnosis.
