TL;DR
This study explores factors linked to mpox awareness among men who have sex with men in China to help improve prevention strategies.
Contribution
The study identifies specific demographic and behavioral factors associated with mpox knowledge in an online MSM population in China.
Findings
62.91% of the 604 participants had knowledge about mpox.
Higher mpox knowledge was associated with age 30+, college education, and recent exposure to HIV/mpox information online.
Promoting mpox prevention knowledge and online information dissemination is recommended for better risk reduction.

This study aimed to provide a scientific basis for formulating mpox prevention and control strategies for men who have sex with men (MSM) by analyzing the associated factors. Univariate and multivariate logistic regression analyses were used to identify factors influencing knowledge about mpox. In the 604 participants surveyed, the mpox knowledge rate was 62.91%.
