Symptom improvement in a South Asian patient with Parkinson’s disease treated with immediate- and extended-release carbidopa–levodopa: a case report
Gail Reiner, Michael Skipworth

TL;DR
An elderly South Asian man with Parkinson’s disease regained mobility and communication after switching to a combination carbidopa–levodopa medication.
Contribution
This case report highlights the effectiveness of extended-release carbidopa–levodopa in a South Asian patient with Parkinson’s disease.
Findings
The patient transitioned from hospice care to home health after medication adjustment.
Switching to a combination formulation of carbidopa–levodopa improved motor and communication functions.
The case suggests the need for tailored treatment approaches for non-Caucasian populations.
