## TL;DR

This study compares pain levels in patients using Invisalign aligners versus fixed appliances and finds Invisalign causes less pain.

## Contribution

The study provides empirical evidence comparing pain perception between Invisalign and fixed orthodontic appliances.

## Key findings

- Invisalign users reported lower pain levels compared to fixed appliance users.
- Pain was measured at 6 hours, 24 hours, 48 hours, and 1 week post-treatment.
- Three groups were compared: Invisalign, self-ligating, and conventional fixed appliances.

## Abstract

The pain perception among patients treated with fixed appliances over Invisalign aligners is of interest. Hence, a total of 75
participants were divided equally into 3 groups namely Group I - Invisalign, Group II - self ligating fixed appliances and Group III -
conventional fixed appliance treatment. Perception of pain among patients was evaluated using a Visual Analog Scale (VAS) at 6 hours,
24 hours, 48 hours and 1 week. Patients treated with Invisalign aligners showed lower pain compared to fixed appliances.
