Integrating communication dimensions into health models: understanding COVID-19 vaccination through multigroup analysis
Jimena Collantes-Loo, Edgardo R. Bravo

TL;DR
This study explores how health communication influences vaccination behavior by integrating multiple theories and analyzing how message components affect different groups of people.
Contribution
The paper introduces an integrated model combining health communication theories and identifies how message effects vary based on audience characteristics.
Findings
The Theory of Planned Behavior core relationships hold in vaccination contexts, but risk appraisals evolve over time.
Message components significantly influence appraisals among high information seekers and those with government trust.
Vulnerability-focused messages impact risk perceptions differently based on chronic health status.

Results confirm the core relationships of the Theory of Planned Behavior in vaccination contexts while revealing a temporal…
