## TL;DR

This paper presents the genome sequence of the Broad Centurion soldierfly, including a detailed assembly of its chromosomes and mitochondrial DNA.

## Contribution

The study provides the first complete genome assembly for Chloromyia formosa, including chromosomal pseudomolecules and the mitochondrial genome.

## Key findings

- The genome assembly is 790.81 megabases long, with 98.79% scaffolded into 7 chromosomal pseudomolecules.
- The mitochondrial genome is 17.69 kilobases in length and has been fully assembled.

## Abstract

We present a genome assembly from a male specimen of
Chloromyia formosa (Broad Centurion soldierfly; Arthropoda; Insecta; Diptera; Stratiomyidae). The genome sequence has a total length of 790.81 megabases. Most of the assembly (98.79%) is scaffolded into 7 chromosomal pseudomolecules, including the X sex chromosome. The mitochondrial genome has also been assembled, with a length of 17.69 kilobases.
