Contribution
This case report demonstrates the successful use of lithium carbonate in treating periodic psychosis of adolescence.
Findings
Lithium carbonate effectively prevented cyclical psychiatric episodes in a patient with periodic psychosis of adolescence.
The patient remained symptom-free for six months after treatment initiation.
The condition showed a strong correlation with the menstrual cycle.
