Abstract
To update knowledge on the effects of cryotherapy in reducing pain, increasing strength, and improving function in patients with knee osteoarthritis. The databases used included PubMed, Embase, Cochrane, Physiotherapy Evidence Database (PEDro), Scopus, Web of Science, and LILACS. In addition, gray literature was searched in Google Scholar, LIVIVO, Open Gray, and the CAPES Library of Theses and Dissertations. The risk of bias was assessed using the Cochrane tool, RoB 2, by two independent reviewers, with conflicts being resolved by consensus. The primary outcome was pain, while secondary outcomes included functionality and muscle strength. Five randomized controlled trials were selected from 2094 initial registrations.
