A Gentle Introduction to Lattice Field Theory
Erhard Seiler

TL;DR
This paper introduces Lattice Field Theory to non-experts, explaining its principles and successes, and connects it to Quantum Cellular Automata.
Contribution
It provides a clear, accessible overview of Lattice Field Theory and its relationship with Quantum Cellular Automata.
Findings
Lattice Field Theory has achieved notable successes in modeling physical systems.
There is a conceptual link between Lattice Field Theory and Quantum Cellular Automata.
Abstract
The principles of Lattice Field Theory (LFT), in particular Lattice Gauge Theory (LGT), are explained for a nonspecialist audience. We describe some of the successes of the program; we also discuss the relationship between LFT and Quantum Cellular Automata (QCA).
