## Abstract

The knowledge and experiences of undergraduate Indian dental students towards research is of interest. A cross-sectional observational
study was conducted by using a self-explanatory questionnaire consisting of 12 questions. A total of 182 students participated in the
study. Many first, second and third-year dental students did not conduct research. However, those in the third and final years enjoyed
research activities. Moreover, about 80% of third and final-year students expressed interest in pursuing further research.
