Contribution
This study highlights the imbalance between medical school expansion and urology residency availability, emphasizing its impact on student opportunities.
Findings
The proportion of medical schools with urology residencies dropped from 79.6% to 67.9% since 2000.

There are regional variations in NIH funding distribution across AUA sections.
