Nina Ramona Riedl, Petra Jansen, Stefanie Klatt

TL;DR
This study explores how character strengths relate to participation and performance in individual and team sports, offering insights for future research and interventions.
Contribution
The study introduces character strengths as predictors of sports participation and performance, a novel focus in sports psychology.
Findings
Certain character strengths significantly predict whether athletes participate in individual or team sports.
Character strengths slightly improve the prediction of performance levels, though the increase is not statistically significant.
The study highlights the need for further research on character strengths in sports and their connection to well-being.
