TL;DR
This study finds that most low- and lower-middle-income countries lack comprehensive burn care policies and clinical guidelines, despite a high burden of burn injuries.
Contribution
The study systematically assesses the availability of burn care policies and guidelines in 78 low- and lower-middle-income countries.
Findings
Only 29 exclusive burn care policies or clinical guidelines were identified across 63 countries.
Most policies focused on prevention and first aid, while clinical guidelines addressed burn emergencies.
The study highlights a critical gap in comprehensive burn care policies and protocols in these regions.
