A critical Response to “How firearm legislation impacts firearm mortality”, A focused look at Canadian and Australian evidence
Caillin Langmann

TL;DR
This paper critiques a review claiming gun control reduces firearm deaths in Australia and Canada, finding the evidence weak and inconclusive.
Contribution
The paper provides a critical re-evaluation of the effectiveness of firearm legislation in reducing mortality in Australia and Canada.

Seven out of eight Australian studies found no association between gun control and reduced firearm homicide.
Canadian studies show no beneficial association between legislation and firearm homicide when using rigorous methods.
Firearm suicide reductions in Canada are offset by substitution to other methods, with no overall decline in suicide rates.
