TL;DR
Breastfeeding for more than three months is linked to lower risk of postpartum depression in mothers from Abu Dhabi, UAE.
Contribution
This study identifies breastfeeding duration as a significant protective factor against postpartum depression in a UAE population.
Findings
34.8% of participants had moderate-to-severe postpartum depression.
Breastfeeding for over three months was associated with a 54% reduction in odds of moderate-to-severe PPD.
Higher education and self-reported excellent health also correlated with reduced PPD risk.
