TL;DR
This case report discusses the challenges of diagnosing acute psychosis in a patient with depression and recent cocaine use, emphasizing the importance of a thorough clinical history.
Contribution
The paper highlights the differential diagnosis of delusional infestation in the context of cocaine use and depression.
Findings
Delusional infestation after cocaine use is rare, with toxic psychosis or depression with psychotic symptoms being more likely.
A systematic clinical history is crucial for accurate diagnosis in cases of acute psychosis.
