TL;DR
This study examines the 20-year trends in suicidal thoughts and behaviors among psychiatric emergency patients in a Belgian hospital, highlighting persistent issues and demographic patterns.
Contribution
The study provides a long-term, data-driven analysis of STB in a psychiatric emergency department, revealing stable trends and demographic disparities.
Findings

Females had higher referral rates for both suicidal ideation and attempts compared to males.
