Abstract
Background and Objectives: This study aims to evaluate neurosurgery consultations for elderly patients during and following the COVID-19 pandemic. Materials and Methods: This study included patients aged 65 and older who were hospitalized in non-neurosurgery departments at Istinye University Gaziosmanpasa Medical Park Hospital and were referred for neurosurgery consultations between 1 April 2020 and 31 May 2024. Patients in the intensive care unit and emergency department were excluded. The period from 1 April 2020 to 30 April 2022 was defined as the pandemic period, and from 1 May 2022 to 31 May 2024 as the post-pandemic period.
