## TL;DR

A new device called The Key Ripper was developed to safely and easily remove surgical drain sutures, improving the drain removal process.

## Contribution

The Key Ripper is a novel, specialized suture-cutting device designed specifically for drain removal.

## Key findings

- The Key Ripper safely removes the threads fixing surgical drains.
- It offers a safer and easier alternative to traditional methods like scissors or scalpels.

## Abstract

The removal of post-surgical drains requires suture cutting. We developed a novel and specialized device that can safely remove the threads fixing the drains, making drain removal safer and easier than the current removal approach using scissors or a scalpel.
