TL;DR
This study shows that blood levels of nitric oxide and endothelin-1 can predict major heart problems in patients who had a severe heart attack and a procedure to open blocked arteries.
Contribution
The study introduces a combined model using nitric oxide and endothelin-1 levels to predict adverse cardiovascular events after heart procedures.
Findings
Patients with major adverse events had lower nitric oxide and higher endothelin-1 levels.
A combined model of nitric oxide and endothelin-1 showed strong predictive value for future heart issues.
The model correlates with the severity of heart attacks and can help identify high-risk patients.
