Zhihui Zhao, Xiangzhen Ma

TL;DR
This paper introduces a new model of moral empathy based on intersubjective phenomenology, explaining how empathy can lead to moral actions through perception, situation awareness, and storytelling.
Contribution
The paper proposes a novel ternary model of moral empathy grounded in intersubjective phenomenology.
Findings
Perceptual empathy at the subpersonal level contributes to moral consciousness.
Situational empathy through shared attention leads to dyadic morality and cooperation.
Narrative empathy helps children internalize group moral norms through embodied storytelling.
