Wanda Wendel-Vos

TL;DR
The EU HEPA Monitoring Framework tracks physical activity policies across 27 countries, supporting national efforts to increase population-level activity through a government-driven approach.
Contribution
The paper presents a comprehensive, government-driven framework for harmonized physical activity policy monitoring across 27 EU countries.
Findings
The EU HEPA Monitoring Framework includes 23 indicators and has been used in three data collection rounds since 2015.
A 2020 survey showed that the framework's data were found useful for national policy development and cross-country learning.
The framework has inspired similar data collection efforts in other countries and is considered one of the most comprehensive datasets of its kind.
