Abstract
Experiencing a fulfilling sexuality is important for human wellbeing. However, problems with sexuality are common in older and chronically ill people like persons with COPD, and the topic is rarely addressed by health care professionals (HCP). The aim of this RCT was to evaluate acceptability and effectiveness of the COmmunication about SexualitY (COSY) intervention on health outcomes and physical activity in people with COPD (NCT05696730). Persons with COPD recruited from general population and primary care setting were randomized into intervention (IG; 1 face-to-face and 2 phone counselling sessions by trained HCP, 6 communication instruments) or control group (CG; usual care).
