Mohammed Al Kurnas, Madison Webster, Xinxin Wu, Peter T Silberstein

TL;DR
This study finds that age and sex influence whether amelanotic melanoma is diagnosed at an early stage or at stage IV, which affects survival outcomes.
Contribution
The study is the first to investigate demographic factors influencing early-stage versus stage IV diagnosis in amelanotic melanoma.
Findings
Males are more likely to be diagnosed with stage IV amelanotic melanoma compared to females.
Younger age is associated with lower odds of stage IV diagnosis in amelanotic melanoma.
Most patients with amelanotic melanoma are White and live in metropolitan areas.
