Perceptions and digitalisation of outbreak management in UK health services: A cross-sectional survey
Matthew Wynn

TL;DR
A survey of UK health services reveals mixed perceptions and limited digitalization in managing infectious disease outbreaks.
Contribution
The study provides novel insights into IPC practitioners' perceptions and digitalization levels in UK outbreak management.
Findings
IPC practitioners show positive perceptions of outbreak management stages but express concerns about surveillance and communication.
Digitalization of outbreak management relies on basic tools like Excel and Word, limiting retrospective learning.
Nine out of ten NHS trusts provided data, revealing challenges like poor surveillance and delayed outbreak detection.
