TL;DR
This study adapts and validates a scale to measure attitudes toward euthanasia in Portuguese older adults with mixed anxiety-depressive disorder.
Contribution
The study provides a validated, culturally adapted instrument for assessing euthanasia attitudes in a vulnerable group in Portugal.
Findings
The attitude about euthanasia scale showed good internal consistency and one-factor structure.
Significant correlations with other validated scales confirmed the construct validity of the adapted instrument.
The adapted scale can be used for cross-cultural comparisons, such as between Portuguese and Brazilian older adults.
