TL;DR
This study estimates the prevalence and management of osteogenesis imperfecta in Spain, highlighting gaps in care and treatment.
Contribution
The study provides the first comprehensive Delphi-based assessment of OI epidemiology, management, and unmet needs in Spain.
Findings
The estimated prevalence of OI in Spain is 0.56 per 10,000 inhabitants, affecting approximately 2,669 patients.
Multidisciplinary care for OI is not fully implemented, and there is no approved curative treatment available.
Approximately 269 new OI cases are diagnosed annually in Spain.
