TL;DR
This case report describes the first successful left atrial appendage closure in a patient who previously had an interatrial shunt device implanted.
Contribution
This is the first reported case of left atrial appendage closure in a patient with a prior interatrial shunt device.
Findings
A patient with a previously implanted interatrial shunt device successfully underwent left atrial appendage closure.
The procedure was performed using the LAmbre device without complications.
Abstract
Patients with previous interatrial shunt device (IASD) implantation may face greater challenges during future left atrial interventional procedures. Herein, we report the first case of left atrial appendage closure (LAAC) in a patient with previous IASD implantation. The patient successfully underwent LAAC using the LAmbre device without complications. The online version contains supplementary material available at 10.1186/s12872-024-03904-0.
