TL;DR
This study examines how medical and dental students' knowledge about vaccines affects their confidence in advocating for them and their future vaccine-related practices.
Contribution
The study identifies knowledge gaps among future healthcare providers and links them to vaccine advocacy and counseling behaviors.
Findings
68% of students had average/above-average knowledge about the COVID-19 vaccine, and 55% about the influenza vaccine.
Higher knowledge scores correlated with greater confidence in recommending and counseling about vaccines (p < 0.0001).
Many students had insufficient vaccine knowledge, which could impact patient care and public health outcomes.
