TL;DR
This study describes the clinical features and outcomes of 25 children in Syria with MIS-C, a rare inflammatory condition linked to prior SARS-CoV-2 infection.
Contribution
The study provides a detailed clinical profile of MIS-C in a pediatric hospital in Syria, highlighting its presentation and management in a region with limited prior data.
Findings
MIS-C was diagnosed in 10.77% of 232 pediatric COVID-19 cases, with fever, conjunctivitis, rash, and cardiac dysfunction being common features.
Respiratory symptoms were uncommon in MIS-C patients, and all patients recovered without deaths.
Positive SARS-CoV-2 IgG in most patients supports the post-infectious origin of MIS-C.
