DD-pair production in the parton Reggeization approach taking into account single and double parton scattering scenarios
Lev Alimov, Vladimir Saleev

TL;DR
This paper calculates $DD$-pair production cross sections at 7 and 13 TeV using the parton Reggeization approach, incorporating single and double parton scattering, and compares results with LHCb data.
Contribution
It introduces a comprehensive calculation method for $DD$-pair production considering both scattering mechanisms within the parton Reggeization framework.
Findings
Double parton scattering contribution is significant in $DD$-pair production.
The effective cross section parameter $\sigma_{eff}$ is determined to be approximately 11.5 mb.
Model results agree with LHCb experimental data at 7 TeV.
Abstract
The paper presents the results of calculations of the cross sections for the production of -pairs at centre-of-mass energies and TeV in the parton Reggeization approach. The contribution of both single and double parton scattering is taken into account. To describe the non-perturbative effects of -quark hadronization into -mesons, a fragmentation model with the Peterson fragmentation function is used. The parameter mb, which determines the contribution of the double parton scattering mechanism, is fixed on the basis of a comparison with the available LHCb collaboration experimental data on the -meson pairs production at TeV.
