Shortest period for outer orbit in compact hierarchical triple? Discovery of SB1 around V0885 Per
Mikhail Kovalev (YNAO)

TL;DR
This paper reports the discovery of a single-lined spectroscopic binary (SB1) with a very short 21.8-day period around V 0885 Per, potentially the shortest outer orbit in a compact hierarchical triple system.
Contribution
It identifies a new candidate for the shortest outer orbit in a hierarchical triple, expanding understanding of such systems.
Findings
Discovered SB1 in V 0885 Per with a 21.8-day period.
Spectroscopic data suggest the SB1 may be gravitationally bound to the inner binary.
Chance alignment as an explanation is considered unlikely.
Abstract
I present a discovery of SB1 in the LAMOST MRS spectra of eclipsing contact binary V 0885 Per. Spectroscopic orbit has period only day, which will make it shortest known outer period in compact hierarchical triple system, if this SB1 is indeed bound to the inner system. Unfortunately quality of available spectra don't allow to give definitive answer to this question, although other explanation like a chance alignment seems to be unlikely.
